About Xi'an

Xi'an, known as Chang'an, is the largest central city in Northwest China, with a total area of 10752 square kilometers and an existing population of 12 million.
Xi'an has 3100 years of history of the city and 1100 years of history as the capital of 13 past dynasties.

  • The Terracotta Warriors, is located in Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. In 1987, Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin and Terracotta Warriors pits were approved by the UNESCO's World Heritage List. They were honored as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

  • Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is located in the Giant Ci'en Temple in Yanta District, Xi'an. In 652 A.D., Xuan Zang built the pagoda for preserving the Buddhist texts and statue that he brought back to Chang'an from Tianzhu. The pagoda is the oldest and largest brick pagoda in the Tang Dynasty.

  • Tang Paradise, located in the Qujiang New District of Xi'an, which is the first large imperial garden style cultural theme park in China, which can full display the Tang Dynasty as the largest imitative Tang Dynasty imperial garden style architectural complex.

  • The Drum Tower, located in the center of Xi'an, was built in 1380. It is one of the largest and most intact drum towers of large amount of drum towers left in ancient China.

  • Xi'an is a historical city where you will be amazing with its brilliant culture. Here are Tangyue Dance, Qinqiang Opera, Shadow Plays, Peasant Paintings from HU county, Chinese Paper-cut Art, and so on. In 2006, Qinqiang Opera was approved by the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

  • Xi'an is one of the ten best snack cities in Asia. Various food may confuse your choice. Here are Biangbiang Noodles, Qin Town Steamed Cold Noodles, Rice and Jujube Cake, Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup, Chinese Hamburger, Dried Persimmon, and so on. Most of them appear on the Muslim Snake Quarter and really worth to have a try.
